Free tax help
Maximize your refund with free tax help this year! Placer County Health and Human Services is providing free tax assistance to eligible individuals and families, in cooperation with the IRS and United Way, through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Anyone earning income up to $65,000 in 2023 is eligible for this free program.
CalWORKS
If your family has little or no cash you may be eligible to receive immediate, short-term help. Families that apply and qualify for ongoing assistance receive temporary financial support each month and get help finding a job.
General Relief
If you are a single adult with little or no cash and need assistance to pay for housing, food, or utilities, you may be eligible to receive short-term help through this program. General Relief benefits are only available to Placer County residents.
Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI)
Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) is a state program that provides monthly cash benefits to aged, blind, and disabled non-citizens who are ineligible for SSI/SSP solely due to their immigrant status.
